Characteristics
Davana grows in the same parts of southern India as sandalwood. Davana is a small plant with the oil coming from the leaves and stems. Its odour is sharp, penetrating, powerfully herbaceous with a sweet balsamic, tenacious undertone. In India, some offer daily davana blossoms to the god Shiva.
